KULE (www.kule.com), the fashion brand built on the perfect stripe shirt, is getting political…again. In response to a major retailer’s declaration of March 31 as National Stripe Day (#NationalStripeDay), KULE has sent letters to its congressional representatives to bar the move on the basis that it violates principle tenets of the fashion constitution.
In a statement released this morning, founder Nikki Kule declared, "Stripes are for every day! Designating a single day to wear stripes is discriminatory, and we will not stand for it. We must protect the inalienable right to wear stripes!”
KULE urges all supporters of stripes and stripe equality to join grassroots movements across the country--and around the world--to wear stripes for all occasions. "Live in stripes. Love in stripes. Pick up your dry cleaning in stripes. Call your representatives and encourage them to support the right to stripe," Kule says. "Remind them that every day is stripe day."
KULE added that it is fighting not only for people with style, but also for all the zebras out there who could suffer irreparable damage.
